1980s small Holden Camira was a “super car”

The Holden Cruze test car that we’re driving this week got us thinking-what was the other small/medium size car that Holden manufactured in Australia? The answer to that question would be the Camira, which was produced from 1983 to 1989 across three generations and in sedan and wagon body styles. The car competed against the Ford Telstar amongst other rivals.

The Camira was based on General Motor’s J platform, and as the sci-fi themed video suggests, the car was specially engineered for Australian conditions. That air conditioning and trip computer system certainly do sound impressive…
