Mazda2 Neo Sedan Preview

Sharply styled Mazda2 Neo sedan is a small car that feels like a big one

The all-new second generation Mazda2 sedan is a small car that is solid, stylish and reeks of quality that Mazda has become famed. Stylistically, it is a huge step up on the previous Mazda2 sedan, which merely looked like a Mazda2 hatch with a boot tacked on and in this incarnation and the design is far more streamlined-it almost looks like a mini Mazda3.

We’re testing the base Mazda2 Neo sedan which has so far impressed us with its eager-to-please 1.5 litre engine, quick shifting six-speed auto and refreshing-if somewhat oddball- interior design.

However, it hasn’t been a complete bed of roses: there is little to no interior storage, the shape and placement of the wing mirrors take quite a lot of adjusting and the ride can be choppy.

Still, it’s early days. Full review coming soon.
