Sinister black highlights and high equipment levels make the X-Class Edition 1 one of Australia’s poshest and most expensive utes
Mercedes has taken its X-Class up a notch, with the announcement of the X-Class Edition 1. Available from 1 July, 2019 in limited numbers, all X Class Editon 1 models will be based on the X350d Power variant.
Power comes from a 3.0 litre turbo diesel that produces 190 kW/550 Nm and the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive system with low range reduction gear.
The X-Class Edition 1 models are distinguished from their brethren by way 19-inch 6-twin-spoke alloy wheels, leather trim with heating for the front seats, Edition 1 badging side steps, and an electric rear window.
There are also lots of black highlights. The wheels are black, stripes that run across the bonnet are black, as is the grille, the Benz star the wing mirrors, badging, said side steps are black along with front and rear bumper-bar valance, fog light surrounds, side and rear tailgate handles.
Three colours are on offer: Kebara Black, Bering White or Rock Grey. If you choose the black, the black highlights are glossy, if you choose one of the other colours the black has a matte finish.
A bedliner and hard tonneau cover not only complete the look, but give the Edition 1 X-Class greater functionality.
And the price? $87,500 plus on roads.
