Volkswagen Announces Five Year Warranty

All new Volkswagens are to be backed by a five-year unlimited kilometre warranty…for a limited time only

Volkswagen is joining a raft of car makers – most recently Mazda – in offering their customers a five year/unlimited kilometre warranty.

However, the warranty will only be applicable to all new VWs sold between now and December 31. Volkswagen is yet to indicate as to whether the plan will become permanent.

“From the 80,000 customer surveys that VGA conducts annually, we see strong response to our driveaway pricing and finance offers,” Volkswagen Group Australia Managing Director Michael Bartsch said.

“Customer reaction to Five Year Warranty will be informative.”

In other words, a big warranty could be another means of getting more people through showroom doors.

VW has been on a roll in the sales charts, as it is on the way to recording its fourth consecutive year of 60,000 plus sales. And, next year will bring the 2019 Golf GTI, the Golf R Special Edition, the all-new Touareg and the Amarok Core V6, a new base model for VW’s V6 pick-up truck.
