Nissan NP300 Navara-based Nissan Terra SUV snapped without camouflage
There has long been speculation that Nissan was developing an NP300 Navara-based SUV. It’d take on other ute-based SUVs such as the Ford Everest, Holden Trailblazer, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. And finally, thanks to Chinese website Sina Weibo, the Nissan Terra has been snapped without any form of disguise.
Much like its rivals, the new Nissan Terra SUV would adopt a body-on frame design, which means it’ll offer genuine off-road ability along with the flexibility of seven seats.
In China, the Terra will be powered by a 2.5 litre four-cylinder engine. The spy pics also suggest that the Terra will be available with Nissan’s CVT and conventional transmission choices, along with two and four-wheel drive. Obviously.
Nissan Australia has yet to confirm whether the Nissan Terra will make it down under, but given the success of the Terra’s rivals, Nissan Australia could have a winner on its hands, especially has the Pathfinder is now based on a monocoque platform, and is more a high-riding SUV than a proper off-roader.
More to come.
