Nissan officially reveals Nissan Terra SUV and their plan to go SUV and 4×4 mad…
Nissan has published official photos of its Ford Everest, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport rival, the Navara-based Nissan Terra; ahead of an international premiere to be held in China in Spring. And, the car in the photos looks pretty much exactly the same as the ones in the spy pics we published a while ago.
Anyway, perhaps most importantly, the Terra will be the first of a number of significant new vehicles for Nissan, as it is part of the brand’s new midterm plan, M.O.V.E 2022.
In sum, Nissan is planning to aggressively ramp up its SUV and light commercial vehicle portfolio – and other vehicles based on ladder frame chassis, so think proper 4x4s etc – by 2022, with brand planning on increasing sales of these vehicles 40 per cent by 2022.
“The Nissan Terra goes on sale this spring, first in China, with other Asian markets soon to follow.
“Nissan’s frame and LCV business is seeing steady growth, and with our ambitious midterm plan and growing product lineup, we’re confident that this growth will continue.
“It is an exciting time for Nissan. We have the Nissan Terra arriving soon, the award-winning Nissan Navara is now in 133 markets worldwide, and more drivers are purchasing our LCVs around the world” said Ashwani Gupta, senior vice president for Nissan’s frame and LCV business.
More information on the Nissan Terra will become available in April.
