All-new 2017 Civic hatchback front

New Honda Civic Hatch Prices Revealed

New Honda Civic hatch range to consist of five variants and will be priced from $22,390

Honda Australia has confirmed that the new British-built Honda Civic hatch will be available in five different specification levels when it hits Australian showrooms in May 2017. Prices will start $22,390 for the base VTi hatch with a 1.8 litre engine and extend all the way to the fully loaded VTi-LX priced from $33,590 which will be powered by a punchier 1.5 litre turbo engine. All models are mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The new Honda Civic hatch shares the front and wheelbase with its sedan sister, but from the B pillars onwards, the design is bespoke, offering passengers greater headroom with a higher roofline and greater cargo space. Shorter overhangs for a more European flavour, as per the car’s origins.

Additional sporty features that are unique to the hatch include a body-coloured rear spoiler, a black lower spoiler and a Piano Black grille and B-Pillars. Inside, the cabin of the new Honda Civic hatch adopts darker colours to give the hatch a more athletic ambience than the sedan.

On the topic of athleticism, customers who choose the raciest – until the Type R makes its way here, anyway – Honda Civic hatch the Civic RS, get a Civic Type R-inspired centrally mounted exhaust system, a full bodykit and is powered by the 1.5 litre turbo engine. The Honda Civic RS hatch attracts a $500 premium over the equivalent sedan.

“With the Honda Civic sedan laying a really strong foundation for our ‘One Civic’ plan during 2016, the arrival of the hatch body style will ensure customers know the Honda Civic is well and truly back in the small car game,” Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins said.

A pricing overview of the new Honda Civic hatch range is below:

VTi 1.8 CVT $ 22,390
VTi-S 1.8 CVT $ 24,490
VTi-L 1.5 Turbo CVT $ 27,790
