Mustang BULLITT Confirmed for Australia

1986

Exclusive special edition Mustang BULLITT will be the most powerful production Mustang in Australia

Ford Australia has confirmed that the limited edition Mustang BULLITT will be making its way down under, with just 700 examples of the BULLITT inspired ‘Stang touching down on Australian shores.

All cars will receive an individually numbered plaque, and will be powered by a 5.0 litre Coyote V8 that produces 345kW and 556Nm, thanks to Open Air induction system and intake manifold, with 87mm throttle bodies, Ford Racing air-filter and a PCM (Powertrain Control Module) shared with the Shelby Mustang GT350

Once you pop the bonnet you’ll notice BULLITT badging on the strut tower, a nod to the 1968 Mustang BULLITT.

All Mustang BULLITT models will be fitted with a six-speed manual – the original Mustang BULLITT didn’t have auto, you see – that has been thoroughly revised for 2018, and it has features like rev matching and it funnels that glorious V8 noise through quad mode exhaust system that allows the driver to choose a setting that suits their mood.

Additional Mustang BULLITT highlights include Dark Highland Green with gloss-black Torq Thrust-style alloys as a nod to the original, along with BULLITT scuff plates, a white cue ball gear knob and green stitching to compliment the exterior. A BULLITT fuel filler cap helps finish off the exterior

The Mustang BULLITT is well equipped too. You get Brembo brakes, MagnaRide adaptable suspension, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control. There’s also heated and cooled seats, the option of Recaro seats, Ford’s SYNC3 infotainment system, satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Mustang BULLITT will be priced from $73,688 and will arrive in Australia in October, just in time to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the BULLITT film.

“BULLITT is the car-chase of car chases, and we know that Australians are passionate about

Mustang, so we’re pleased to have secured our own batch of this unique model,” said Ford Australia President and CEO, Graeme Whickman. “It further builds on the Mustang story in this country as we respond to enthusiasm for even more choice, additional features and personalisation across the line-up. Australians are looking for Mustangs that really stand out, and Mustang BULLITT really makes a statement.”
