Lamborghini Makes Urus Marketing Gaffe

Lamborghini accidentally reveals its second SUV, the Urus ahead of its official debut on December 4

Imagine for a moment that you’re in charge of Lamborghini. For years you’ve churned out bonkers two-door, two seat supercars but, times have changed, and it’s time to dive in to the highly coveted luxury high performance market.

Bentley has launched the Bentayga, Audi has the Q7 and Porsche has been making various incarnations of the Cayenne for years. Ferrari is on its way to the party too.

So, your Lamborghini Urus better be pretty special. And Lamborghini is teasing audiences with various promotional videos of the Urus’ production and the one attached is showing off the Urus’ driving modes. However, in all videos the car has been clothed in an automotive camouflage.

However, Lamborghini has stuffed up big time when showing off the car’s driving modes. When the car is pounding around the track and the driver selects “Corsa” (race) mode, the Urus exterior design is revealed in all its glory. Oh dear.

When Lamborghini noticed the stuff up, they quickly pulled the video from YouTube, but happily others re-uploaded the video.

The Lamborghini Urus will be built on the Volkswagen Group platform that underpins the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga. The Urus will be powered by a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 that will develop 484kW and a 507kW plug in petrol/electric hybrid will follow later.
