Koenigsegg is Coming to Town

Lorbek Luxury Cars to act as Australia’s first Koenigsegg dealership

Koenigsegg AB has appointed Lorbek Luxury Cars in conjunction with Prodigy Automotive as the first factory backed Koenigsegg dealership in Australia.

Koenigsegg is quickly developing a reputation for producing some of the world’s fastest, technologically advanced and beautifully crafted supercars in the world. All of which are made in the firm’s factory in Angelholm, Sweden.

Now, Australian and New Zealand customers will have access to Koenigsegg’s full range of vehicles along with service and support.

Lorbek was chosen as Koenigsegg’s local partner due to their vast experience with all things luxury and performance automotive and their state of the art showroom in Port Melbourne, a city tipped to shortly become Australia’s largest.

Koenigsegg is already generating strong interest locally, with the dealership already taking deposits for the yet to be named Agera RS replacement, with the car’s debut to take place at the 2019 Geneva motor show.

“A ballpark figure would be $1 million as a final deposit,” said Koenigsegg’s Australian marketing director Harry Hamann of the mystery hypercar told motoring.com.au.

“If the factory cannot supply it, they’ll simply say they cannot do it. We’re expecting delivery  on the initial car to be late 2019.

“We’re speaking to a few people. We expect those other deliveries late 2019 to early-2020 and mid-2020.”

Interestingly, Hamann said that prospective customers had indicated that they planned to drive their Koenigsegg on the road, rather than lock them away or use them exclusively on track days.

The announcement of the Koenigsegg dealership coincides with Zagame Group becoming the Australian distributor of Pagani and the $5.5 million Huayra roadster.

The Lorbek/Koenigsegg dealership will officially open in June 2018 with a VIP launch event that will be attended by Koenigsegg Sales Director Andreas Petre along with a gaggle of wealthy collectors and prospective customers.
