Jaguar’s sexy XF Sportbrake goes on sale in Australia, with prices starting from $90,400
Let’s start with the practical attributes. Being a wagon, people are going to expect some sort of load space. The XF Sportbrake’s cargo area can swallow up to 565 litres with the backseats up and up to an impressive 1,700 litres with the rear seat backrests folded down. The rear suspension has an automatic levelling feature that allows drivers to effortlessly tow up to two tonnes of caravan, horsebox or whatever else you desire.
New and clever features include gesture control for the panoramic blind in the roof and tailgate. There’s also Jaguar Land Rover’s Water Proof Activity Key that allows the driver to lock the conventional key safely in the car while they engage in leisurely pursuits such as swimming or cycling.
The XF Sportbrake should handle, too. It’s largely made from aluminium and Jaguar has tuned the suspension and spilt vehicle weight 50:50 to ensure that the Sportbrake provides the same sort of driving experience as the sedan.
There are also All Surface Progress Control (ASPC) and Adaptive Surface Response (ASR) programs to help ensure that the car maintains grip on slippery surfaces, the car park at the horse or croquet clubs, perhaps.
A number of four and six-cylinder engine options will be offered:
- 132kW 2.0-litre diesel automatic; RWD
- 221kW 3.0-litre V6 diesel automatic; RWD
- 184kW 2.0-litre petrol automatic; RWD
Interestingly, Jaguar Australia has only opted to bring in R-Sport and S versions of the XF Sportbrake into Australia. The price list for all models is as follows:

- XF R-Sport 25t 184kW Auto RWD, $91,400
