Hyundai is developing a go fast Tucson N, that will kick out 255kW!
British publication AutoExpress has confirmed that Hyundai is working on a go-fast Tucson N, that’ll compete against the likes of the Audi SQ5, AMG GLCs and fast versions of the BMW X3.
Details on the Tucson N drivetrain are limited, but expect a high-po 2.0 litre petrol turbo, Hyundai’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and 255kW. All-wheel drive should put all that power to the ground. 0-100km/h should be dismissed in around six seconds.
However, the Tucson N won’t appear before 2020, so it could be based on the next generation of the SUV.
N may even build a fully electric car, but this is yet to be confirmed.
The next Hyundai N car will the Hyundai i20 N which will have around 185kW, front-wheel drive and an electronic diff., and will do battle against the likes of the Polo GTi and Fiesta ST.
