Ford Mustang Pricing to Start from less than $50,000

Ford Australia Confirms Sharp Pricing for sports car

Ford Australia has revealed today that the Mustang range will start from $44,990 for the turbo charged Mustang I4 and will be topped with the 5.0 litre automatic Mustang GT convertible.

Two body styles will be offered, a convertible and fastback (coupe) and The I4 Mustang will develop 233kW and 432Nm or torque from its 2.3 litre EcoBoost engine and the 5.0 V8 with twin independent variable camshaft timing will serve up 303kW and a more muscular 525Nm of torque. A six-speed Getrag manual as standard, while the optional six-speed automatic commands an extra $2500.

Ford has ingrained the all-new Mustang with a number of key design elements to help it stand out. These include a sleek profile, detailed tail lamps along with that signature Mustang grille and for added effect, Pony projection lights.

Should you wish to customise your ‘Stang fu can choose between what Ford calls OTT (literally “Over The Top”) racing stripes and black painted roof, upgraded 19inch wheels with Lustre Nickel Finish on GT models as well as “Prestige” paintwork.

All 2015 Ford Mustangs are equipped with a double-ball joint front MacPherson strut system. The back is supported by integral-link suspension. The V8 models also gain Brembo six-piston 36 mm fixed aluminium calipers.

Inside, standard equipment includes Ford’s latest SYNC2 entertainment system with eigh-inch touchscreen, satellite navigation and a nine-speaker stereo. To keep occupants comfy there are heated and cooled leather seats with six-way electric driver’s adjustment and dual-zone climate control. Ambient interior lighting, auto headlights and aluminium faced pedals are also part of the deal.

Safety is another important part of the Mustang, with everything from Ford’s SYNC Emergency Assistance, dual front and side airbags and a driver’s knee airbag will be fitted to all Mustangs.

“With such sharp pricing, we’re signalling that there’s a new Ford performance car coming and we intend to grab our rightful share of enthusiasts who value style, technology, performance and the history that the Mustang name brings,” says Graeme Whickman, Vice President Marketing, Sales and Service. “It’s a technologically advanced car without forgetting the heritage that has inspired Ford customers for generations.”

There has been no confirmation of a local launch date, but around 1200 people have put their name down for the new Mustang. Will you join that list?
