Ford Australia has confirmed that the all-new Ford Fiesta ST hot hatch will make its way down under in the second quarter of 2019.

The new Ford Fiesta will be powered by a 1.0 litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine that chucks out 147kW and will be mated exclusively to a six-speed manual. Ford also promises thrill-a-minute driving dynamics, weight management and a suite of electronic gizmos such as various drive modes and even launch control. Racy.

The sporty Fiesta’s cabin is decked out with Recaro front seats and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. Naturally, there’s “ST” badging about the place.

And, for the first time ever, the Fiesta ST will be offered locally as three and five door variants for added practicality.

The all-new Fiesta ST serves as the third vehicle in Ford Australia’s performance line-up, behind the Ranger Raptor and Mustang.

“There is a strong appetite and passion for the Fiesta ST in our line-up, and can see the affinity and esteem that Australians have with driving enjoyment of the existing model,” said Ford Australia President and CEO, Graeme Whickman. “Fiesta ST shows the depth of enthusiast models that we’re bringing to Australia, with everything from this hot hatch through to the Ranger Raptor.”
