Holden Unleashes Three Final Limited Edition Commodores

1288

Holden Commodore Motorsport, Holden Commodore Director and the Holden Magnum ute will commemorate the last of the Australian-made Holdens.

The production of Australian made Holdens is drawing closer, and after much speculation, Holden has finally unveiled three special edition models which will make up some of the last models to trundle off the production line in Elizabeth, South Australia.

The models on offer are the SS Redline based Holden Commodore Motorsport, the Calais V based Director and the SS V Redline based Magnum ute.

All are throwbacks to Holden’s motorsport heritage and the Magnum ute is said to be a true Australian interpretation of a two door sports car.

All will be powered by a 6.2 litre V8 and Holden will only be making 1200 Commodore Motorsport models, 360 Commodore Directors and 240 Magnums. All will be individually numbered and available with special options.

The Commodore Motorsport and Director are fitted with Holden’s Magnetic Ride ControlTM  system, which has three settings: Tour, Sport and Performance and allows the driver to adjust the car’s ride to suit driving conditions.

Magnetic Ride ControlTM uses information from sensors at all four corners of the car to adapt and adjust the dampers up to 100 times a second to deliver the combination of ride and handling.

As the set up at the back of the Holden ute is different to the sedan, the Magnum ute isn’t fitted with the trick adjustable suspension, but instead uses the FE3 suspension from the SS-V Redline sedan.

Holden has endowed the Commodore with a sharper, track focus and equipped it with high-rate subframe bush to improve driver confidence under performance braking.

Speaking of brakes, Holden have developed 3.25kg lighter “floating disc” cross drilled front and rear rotors which are dressed with 20-inch split wheels and tyres.

Engine and transmission coolers are fitted for the most enthusiastic of drivers. Holden says these cooling packages bring the Limited Edition Commodores inline with the finest in General Motors family including the Corvette, Camaro and Cadillac CTS-V.

So what’s what? Here’s the model breakdown:
