Higher powered and more affordable M3 Pure and M4 models are additions to the 2017 BMW M3 and M4 range
Ever wanted a BMW M3 or M4 but thought they were too slow or too expensive? Well, do we have news for you! As part of the revised 2017 BMW M3 and M4 range, BMW has added the gruntier, cheaper and more dynamic BMW M3 and M4 Pure models.
The Pure models produce 331kW (an increase of 14kW) and a hefty 550Nm of torque. BMW’s seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox is standard, and the BMW M3 Pure will rocket from standstill to 100km/h in 4 seconds. Should you choose the optional six-speed manual, the same sprint takes 4.2 seconds. An incentive to buy the auto, perhaps?
The M4 Pure coupe competes the dash in the same time as the M3, but the M4 Pure convertible is slightly slower at 4.3 seconds.
BMW claims a combined fuel consumption figure of 8.8 litres of fuel every 100 kilometres.
BMW has enhanced the BMW M3 and M4 Pure driving dynamics by reconfiguring the adaptive M suspension’s settings which are Comfort, Sport and Sport+. The Comfort setting in the Pure models is designed to replicate the Sport mode in the standard M3 and M4 models.
While the BMW M3 Pure and M4 Pure models may be cheaper, they’re not exactly stripped out poverty versions, either. Customers get BMW’s M Competition Package, a carbon fibre roof and interior trimming, satellite navigation, BMW’s latest iDrive system, iDrive 6, LED headlights and a nine-speaker stereo.
All new M3 and M4 models get adaptive LED headlights and there are illuminated M3 or M4 badges inside. There are new wheels available, too.
The BMW M3 and M4 Pure models will arrive in local BMW showrooms from July 2017. A range pricelist is provided below:
