Second generation 2019 Hyundai Veloster to retain three door body, gain extra turbo grunt and even an N version
Images have surfaced have confirmed that the second generation Hyundai Veloster will retain the iconic three door – one door on the driver’s side, and two on the passenger side – body style of the original; the side profile image suggesting that Hyundai has gone for evolution over revolution.
The whole design is familiar, but its more hunkered down and aggressive. The centrally mounted exhaust outlets will remain.
The first generation Veloster Turbo wasn’t a slow car and that 1.6 litre turbo will carry over, and in in this guise, is expected to produce around 150kW. More excitingly, there’ll be a Veloster N, the second N model in Hyundai’s current line-up after the i30N.
The Veloster N is expected to be powered by a 2.0 litre turbo engine that should chuck out 202kW, so it should be damn spritely.
The new Hyundai Veloster will make its debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, which starts on the 14th of January.
