Volvo’s new XC60 will be priced from just $59,990
Volvo has announced the pricing for its second generation XC60 ahead of its official launch in October.
Being a Volvo, the second generation XC60 has raft of new safety technology, which includes Steer Assist and Oncoming Lane Mitigation which steers the car away from
oncoming vehicles to prevent head on collisions.
Volvo’s Blind Spot Indication System (BLIS) now incorporates Steer Assist to reduce instances of drivers merging into other cars.
Autonomous driving functionality has been enhanced too, with the new XC60 able to take care of its own steering, acceleration and braking on “well-marked” roads up to 130km/h.
The new Volvo XC60, like the rest of the Volvo range will be offered in three trim levels: Momentum, Inscription and R-Design.
A number of engines will be offered: the D4 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbo diesel that develops 140kW, the D5 twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel that churns out a healthy 173kW, the T6, a 2.0 litre petrol engine with a turbo and supercharger that makes 235kW and 400 Nm of torque.
The flagship drivetrain is the T8, that T6 engine mated to an electric motor. Combined power is 300kW and your mid-size luxury XC60 will rocket from 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds.
Volvo’s Sensus infotainment system will be fitted to all models.
“Volvo has a strong heritage in designing stylish and dynamic SUVs that offer the latest in technology. The All-New XC60 is no exception, even by our already high standards”, said Kevin McCann, Managing Director of Volvo Car Australia.
