Volvo debuts all-road version of its new V90 wagon, the Volvo V90 Cross Country
Volvo has released images of its new Volvo V90 Cross Country, the latest and final instalment in the brand’s new 90 series range of vehicles and a replacement of the ageing XC70.
As per previous Cross Country models, the V90 Cross Country is based upon Volvo’s largest wagon, the V90, but adds all-paw grip, a raised ride height and body cladding amongst other changes to equip the big Swede for those weekend expeditions off the beaten track.
“Our cars are well known for their safety, strength and durability. With All-Wheel Drive, increased ride height, and a chassis optimised for comfort and control in all weather and road conditions, the new V90 Cross Country takes our versatile V90 estate and adds the heart of an explorer,” said Dr Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President Research & Development at Volvo Cars.
Few other details are available on the V90 Cross Country, but cars can be specified with high-end options such as a Bowers & Wilkins sound system. Also expect Volvo’s new range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.
Production is set to commence in Sweden later this year, with Australian deliveries taking place in early 2017.
