Volkswagen Amarok V6 to be priced from $59,990
Volkswagen Australia has announced that the new Volkswagen Amarok V6 will be offered in two trim levels, with the base Volkswagen Amarok V6 Highline to be priced from $59,990. The more generously specified and Amarok flagship the Amarok V6 Ultimate will have a sticker price of $67,990 plus on road costs and other government charges.
The two new Amarok V6 models will be powered by a 3.0 litre turbo diesel V6 that produces 165kW @ 2,500 – 4,500rpm and a healthy 550Nm @ 1,500 – 2,500rpm the engine is mated to a new eight-speed automatic and combined fuel consumption is claimed to be 7.8 litres per 100 kilometres. Maximum towing capacity for the Amarok V6 is a hefty three tonnes.
Additional changes as part of the update include an updated front end, new instrument cluster, infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay technology and newer more ergonomic seats along with an emergency braking system.
Volkswagen is bravely pitching the Amarok V6 at customers who would’ve have traditionally opted for an SUV, and as such, the Amarok V6 includes tyre pressure monitoring and the convenience of parking sensors and a reversing camera. The Amarok V6 Ultimate adds posh Nappa leather, sports pedals and a rear sports bar with an inbuilt LED light.
