Suzuki reveals teaser image of the new Suzuki Swift Sport ahead of its of its official launch at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
The previous Suzuki Swift Sport was a very nifty little device indeed. It married almost telepathic steering and razor sharp dynamics to loud and distinctive styling. We loved it, and you can read our review here.
Suzuki has recently launched the standard Swift range in Australia, which built upon the last model’s strengths but with a dollop of clever technology, which includes adaptive cruise, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
However, at the Australian launch, the new Suzuki Swift Sport was nowhere to be seen. Suzuki has only just released a single image of the decidedly more aggressive new Suzuki Swift Sport before it is officially unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show which is held from the 14th to the 24th of September.
Little is known about the new Suzuki Swift Sport, but we’re guessing it’ll have more grunt than the perky Swift GLX, which is powered by a 1.0 litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine and given that Suzuki has a tendency for bolting turbos on to small engines, we’re guessing the new Swift Sport will get the 1.4 litre turbo from the Vitara Turbo that churns out 103kW @ 5500rpm and 220Nm @ 1500-4000rpm. That’ll do nicely in a light small car.
However, the above is just speculation. We’ll have to wait until September for all to be revealed.
