New Holden Equinox pricing to start from $27,990, with sales to begin in December 

Holden’s all-new Equinox small SUV will go on sale from December, with prices starting at $27,990 for the entry-level Equinox LS manual.

Key equipment will include autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, distance control, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. All of which will be available on the LS+ variant.

A 1.5 litre and 2.0 litre turbo petrol engines will be available from launch, with a 1.5 litre turbo diesel to follow in 2018.

As per the specs below, the Equinox will offer plenty of safety, comfort and convenience technologies and Holden says that it will offer one the highest towing capacities in its class, although it hasn’t elaborated on specifics.

The Equinox range along with pricing and highlights is below:

LS – $27,990 for the six-speed manual/ $29,990 for six-speed auto

  • 1.5-litre turbo ECOTEC petrol engine

  • ISOFIX child seat anchorage system (x2)
  • 60/40 split-folding rear seats

LS+ priced from $32,990 and adds the following over the LS:

    • Following Distance Indicator
    • Forward Collision Alert with Head-Up Warning
    • Blind spot monitoring

  • Diesel engine option (coming 2018)

LT starts from $36,990 and adds the following over the LS+:

  • Holden MyLink Infotainment System with 8-inch high-resolution colour touch-screen display
    • Apple CarPlay® and Android® Auto phone projection
    • Full iPod® integration including Siri Eyes Free
    • Satellite Navigation with full colour mapping with live traffic updates, traffic management control and points of interest

  • Front parking sensors
  • Dual zone climate control
  • Provision for roof rack mounting
  • One-touch 60/40 split-folding rear seats with rear cargo release
  • Diesel engine option (coming 2018)
  • HID headlights

LTZ, priced from $39,990 adds:
