2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will be powered by supercharged 6.2 litre LT5 V8 that will develop 563kW and 969Nm
The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will arrive in showrooms next year and will be propelled by a bonkers 6.2 litre supercharged LT5, that will kick out a looney 563kW and 969Nm. In short, the 2019 Corvette ZR1 will be the most powerful road going Corvette ever.
All that power will be sent to the rear wheels via seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic.
A choice of two body kits help keep the Corvette ZR1 planted to the bitumen. The first option is the “High Wing” package which consists of a large rear spoiler – obviously – a front splitter with carbon fibre end caps, special calibration for the chassis and magnetic ride suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer-only tyres. Total downforce offered by the High Wing pack is 430kg.
The more restrained body kit option is the “Low Wing” package which still allows the Corvette ZR1 to reach its top speed of over 337km/h, without offering as much downforce.
Cosmetic styling kits these body kits are not.
If you’re feeling even more brash, you can opt for the Sebring Orang Design package. As you’d expect, Chevrolet will paint your Corvette ZR1 bright orange, orange brake calipers, an orange rocker cover and orange interior highlights.
Also inside, there’s full leather, a carbon fibre steering wheel, a performance data recorder and a Bose stereo.
Let’s hope that Holden – or GM – decides to bring this to Australia.
